A Russian soldier on leave in the city of Rostov-on-Don fatally stabbed his daughter and injured his wife and son with a knife before taking his own life, local media reported on Thursday.
According 161.ru, the serviceman was on a week-long break visiting his family, who had traveled to Rostov from Yakutia in the Russian Far East. During the trip, he drank alcohol, which doctors had prohibited as he was recovering from an injury.
During an argument, the soldier reportedly attacked his 14-year-old daughter. “He inflicted about six stab wounds, stabbing erratically. Unfortunately, the knife hit vital organs. The girl died instantly,” a source told the outlet.
The man’s wife and 10-year-old son were hospitalized with cuts and stab wounds, the website reported.
