On episode 7 of Magical Moments we turn the tables and Jill is interviewed by her dear friend Shayna Kulik. Shayna and Jill discuss why JILL LINDSEY was started, what the magic is all about and how Jill has created a healing platform for all. Jill is asked all the time why she started her business and what her future dreams are. Her first location is in Fort Greene Brooklyn and she recently opened in Rockefeller Center in November as the first independent female business owner.
Jill Lindsey has a background in Psychology and Fashion Design. She grew up in Kansas and has lived on both the west and east coasts. She loves community and creating magical experiences for people to connect and come together. Jill manifested JL while on a trip to Italy and it came to fruition in 2014.
Jill Lindsey is a one-of-a-kind, multi-talented businesswoman extraordinaire. Her background in fashion design combined with her innate sense of how to host memorable and magical events led her to open JILL LINDSEY—her namesake department store—in her longtime nabe of Fort Greene. The store itself acts as a community hub, inviting customers and neighbors alike to chat at the wine and coffee bar, experience the wellness center, attend events, and shop for artisanal clothing and home goods. Each item, event, and brand that Jill curates is chosen carefully to reflect the positive and generous ethos of Jill herself, and can be seen in every detail of the store, from the vinyl records playing on the stereo to the peonies blooming in the window.

JILL LINDSEY, the lifestyle brand is committed to working with local artisans from Brooklyn studios, as well as from around the world. The apparel, shoes, textiles, and home goods sold in-store are all made sustainably with attention paid to supply-chains and working conditions. The workshops and events are all meant to enrich attendee’s lives, and are diverse in scope, ranging from floral design and supper clubs and weekly toddler sing-a-longs. Spiritual Wellness is also a big component to the business and you can find tarot readings, shamanic healing and all kinds of wellness services to make you feel good!

Jill believes in positive business growth through partnering with small business owners, and takes a mentoring role with many of her vendors, helping them to think through product pricing, merchandising, and packaging. Future plans for JILL LINDSEY, the brand include expansion into multiple retail footprints, hospitality, wellness centers, and of course, creating more magic in her Fort Greene flagship store.
