But with many of our future plans in doubt, including Easter travel, we're taking a look at some of the facts about the pandemic as well as how you stand if you've got a trip booked.
At time of recording, Italy had just gone into lockdown, and there have already been more travel restrictions imposed by different countries in the past day or two - the comments here are likely to be overtaken by further events, so please check the most recent advice from medical professionals and other official bodies.
