Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Deuteronomy 11:8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;” DEUTERONOMY 11:8 DEVOTION Based on Deuteronomy 11 In this verse, God calls His people to obedience as the key to strength and success. By keeping His commandments, they would be empowered to enter and claim the land He had promised. Obedience is not just about following rules—it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s will so we can walk in His blessing and purpose. God’s strength flows through those who trust and obey Him. When we follow His ways, He equips us to face challenges and take hold of the promises He has prepared for us. Obedience opens the door to God’s provision, protection, and power in our lives. Take a moment tonight to reflect on your obedience to God’s Word. Breathe out resistance, and breathe in His strength. Ask Him to help you walk faithfully, trusting He will lead you to His promises. He has given us His Spirit, which empowers us with courage, love, and clear thinking. Fear can paralyze us, cloud our judgment, and keep us from stepping into the life God has for us. But through the Holy Spirit, we are equipped with strength, compassion, and wisdom. When fear creeps in, we can stand firm, knowing God’s power is greater. His love casts out fear, and His Spirit calms our minds. We are not left to battle fear alone—God gives us everything we need to walk in faith and confidence. Take a moment tonight to release any fear or anxiety. Breathe out worry, and breathe in God’s power and peace. Ask Him to help you live with boldness, love, and a sound mind. A.C.T.S. When we are weary, discouraged, or feel like we have nothing left to give, He provides the power we need to carry on. His strength is not reserved for the already-strong but for those who admit their need for Him. In times of exhaustion—physical, emotional, or spiritual—God is our source of renewal. He increases strength in ways we cannot find on our own. His power lifts us when we are faint and sustains us when we feel empty. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 CORINTHIANS 12:9 DEVOTION Based on 2 Corinthians 12 In this powerful verse, God reminds us that His grace is always enough. When we feel weak, inadequate, or overwhelmed, His strength is fully revealed. It’s not in our power that we overcome life’s trials, but in surrendering our weakness to Him that we find true strength. Paul embraced his weakness because it made room for Christ’s power to work in and through him. Rather than focusing on his limitations, he rejoiced in them, knowing they allowed God’s grace to shine. Just as churning milk makes butter and wringing the nose causes bleeding, forcing wrath—holding onto or provoking anger—results in strife and broken relationships. Unchecked anger doesn’t stay hidden; it produces division and harm. God calls us to practice self-control and to be peacemakers. When we respond with patience rather than fueling anger, we promote harmony and reflect His wisdom. Take a moment tonight to reflect on any anger that may be stirring in your heart. Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Proverbs 16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” PROVERBS 16:32 DEVOTION Based on Proverbs 16 This verse highlights the power of self-control. In a world that values strength, victory, and dominance, God tells us that true greatness is found in mastering our own emotions. Controlling anger and responding with patience takes more strength than overpowering others. A mighty warrior may conquer cities, but one who rules their spirit gains something even greater—inner peace, wisdom, and the ability to reflect God’s character. The Holy Spirit empowers us to exercise patience, discipline, and grace in every situation. Take a moment tonight to reflect on your self-control. Breathe out frustration, and breathe in God’s peace. Ask Him to help you master your emotions so that you may walk in wisdom and strength. A.C.T.S. REFLECTION ADORATION: Praise God for His patience and self-control. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Deuteronomy 31:6 True success is not measured by personal achievements but by our impact on others lives. FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: PEACE Find something that brings you joy (a favorite snack, a funny video, a pet) and savor that moment of peace. Today’s story reflects on Moses’ legacy as a faithful servant who impacted millions by obeying God’s purpose. It reminds us that true success is measured by the positive influence we have on others, not by personal achievements. STORY Bible in a Year: The Life of a True Servant Scripture Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 King Solomon once wrote that a good name is better than precious treasure and better is the day of someone’s death than their birth. What was he getting at? How could the day of someone’s death be better than their birth? I think Moses is an excellent example of this truth. Moses left a legacy of faithfulness, courage, miracles, and breakthroughs. His death marked the end of an era of freedom and connection to God for millions of people. His birth was worth celebrating since any child's birth is precious. But what Moses did between his birth and death changed the world forever. In this Bible in a Year episode, we witness the conclusion of Moses' journey. Standing on Mount Nebo, Moses gazes upon the Promised Land, which he will never enter. This moment encapsulates the essence of legacy and the profound impact of a life dedicated to faithful service. Moses' journey from prince of Egypt to leader of God's people is marked by trials, triumphs, and an unwavering commitment to God's command. Moses' final act is a testament to the power of vision and faithfulness. His story encourages us to leave the world better than we found it, not just through glorious acts but through consistent dedication to God's will. It reminds us that true success is not measured by personal achievements but by our impact on others' lives. REFLECTION Reflect on your own life's journey and the legacy you wish to leave. Consider the ways in which you can serve faithfully in your given roles, impacting those around you positively. Like Moses, focus on fulfilling God's purpose for your life, trusting that your faithfulness will prepare the way for future blessings for others. DEUTERONOMY 31:6 As the Words of Numbers and Deuteronomy ring loud in my ear, I will remember that life and death stand before me each day. As a new day dawns, blessings and cursing are before me, and I will choose the path of blessings. I declare that I will not stray from Your commands Lord for in them I can find life and life everlasting. Because of my devotion to You, You will promote me in front of Your children. You will make public declaration that You have qualified me by my heart, and not by the words, standards, and accolades. Like Joshua, I will be strong and courageous! I will walk with godfidence because You’ve promised me you’d be with me. Thank You for the Moses in my life who have gone before me and have passed the baton into my hands. Let my life be a living memorial to the dedication and diligence of the mighty men and women of faith who have gone before me. I’m ready… I can do this! And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” MATTHEW 28:20 DEVOTION Based on Matthew 28 Jesus’ final words to His disciples are a promise of His constant presence. As we follow His commands and share His truth, we never do it alone. His presence is not temporary or conditional—it is eternal and unwavering. No matter where life takes us, He is with us, strengthening, guiding, and comforting us. This promise gives us confidence in times of uncertainty. When we feel weak or afraid, we can rest in the assurance that Jesus walks with us. His presence is not just near; it dwells within us through the Holy Spirit, empowering us to live for Him. Take a moment tonight to rest in this promise. Breathe out fear, and breathe in His presence. Trust that He is with you in every step of your journey, now and forever. A.C.T.S. Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Isaiah 54:10 “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” ISAIAH 54:10 DEVOTION Based on Isaiah 54 God’s love and faithfulness are unshakable. While the world around us may change, His kindness remains constant. Even if mountains crumble and everything familiar fades away, His covenant of peace will never be removed. His mercy is eternal, ensuring we are always secure in His care. In times of uncertainty or struggle, this verse reminds us that God’s promises are firm. His love is not dependent on our circumstances but is anchored in His unchanging nature. No matter what you face, His peace is available, and His kindness will never fail. Take a moment tonight to rest in His unshakable love. Breathe out worry, and breathe in His peace. Trust that His mercy and faithfulness will sustain you, no matter what comes. A.C.T.S. Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Numbers 22:28 If God can use a donkey to speak truth, He can certainly use anyone. FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: PEACE Make peace with someone you’ve had tension with—send a text or say a kind word. Today’s story highlights how God used Balaam’s donkey to deliver truth, demonstrating that He can use even the most unlikely messengers. It challenges us to stay open to God’s voice in unconventional ways and trust that He can use us for His purposes. STORY Bible in a Year: God Makes a Donkey Speak Scripture Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown. Numbers 22:31 God can sometimes speak in wild and unconventional ways. Sometimes, we must let go of what we think is ‘normal’ and embrace the fact that we worship a God who sent a fish to swallow a prophet, walked on water, and made a donkey speak… Embrace the absurd. This episode of Bible in a Year recounts the story of Balaam and his donkey. Balak, king of Moab, summons Balaam to curse the Israelites. However, God comes to Balaam at night, instructing him only to speak the words God gives him. Despite this divine warning, Balaam sets out with the Moabite officials, leading to an angel of the Lord blocking their path, visible only to Balaam's donkey. Balaam's frustration with his donkey's behavior escalates to the point of violence, yet through God's unconventional intervention, the donkey speaks, revealing the angelic presence. This moment underscores two lessons: First, God's messages and guidance can come through the most unconventional means. Don’t close yourself off too quickly to the absurd and weird events in life. There might be a message for you. Second, if God can use a donkey to speak the truth, then He can certainly use you. Stop disqualifying yourself for this flaw or that shortcoming. You’re at least more useful than a donkey. And if He can use a donkey to save a nation, just think about what He can do through you! REFLECTION Reflect on the ways you expect to hear from God and consider the possibility that He might be speaking through less conventional means. Are there "donkeys" in your life, unexpected messengers or circumstances through which God is trying to get your attention? This week, make an effort to be more attentive to the unlikely ways God might be communicating with you. PRAYER And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? NUMBERS 22:28 When I begin to take territory on Your behalf, Lord, I thank You in advance for protecting me against the plots and plans of others to curse my life and to create chaos. However in the midst of Your protection, Lord, protect me from myself when I try to move on my own accord. Like Balaam and his donkey I know that You can and will use any sign to stop me from moving in a direction You do not desire me to go. Therefore, keep my mind attentive and alert to see the signs that You’ve placed around my life to protect me. Open my eyes and my ears so that I can hear Your message through different vessels. I decree and declare that I will not allow pride to get in the way of my protection. You have my heart, You have my ears and You have my unwavering devotion, now and forever! No hardship, spiritual force, circumstance, or mistake can break the bond between us and our Heavenly Father. His love is constant, unwavering, and unshakable. In moments of doubt or fear, we can rest in this assurance. God’s love is not based on our performance but on His unchanging nature. When trials come, His love remains. When we feel distant, His love reaches us. Through Christ, we are eternally secure in His love. Take a moment tonight to reflect on this promise. Breathe out fear, and breathe in the security of His love. Let your heart rest in the truth that nothing—absolutely nothing—can separate you from Him. A.C.T.S.
