Today the Supreme Court will hear arguments about whether former President Trump can be prosecuted for his alleged efforts to undo the 2020 election. Trump‘s lawyer say former presidents are entitled to “absolute immunity.” However, special council Jack Smith’s team argues Trump’s actions were *not part of official duties as president...And that the founding fathers did not intend for presidents to be above the law." This timing of this case is also significant and could determine whether there's time to hold a trial before the November election. The Supreme Court's decision would not impact the separate hush money trial happening in New York City today.
