However, society has lagged much further behind about respecting the rights of transgender Americans, as well as understanding anything about them. That’s why Julisa Abad, a transgender Latina woman and Alanna Maguire, president of FAIR Michigan, an organization that is fighting to end discrimination in the state are involved in this movement.
