Mass shootings have been hitting the headlines more often - and so has scrutiny of how countries respond.
Australia's gun reforms, enacted after Port Arthur, have been widely credited with preventing mass shootings for over 20 years.
But what exactly are those laws? And when tragedies shake a society to its core, what are the next steps?
