Interview with Vanessa Morris, Anti-Sex Trafficking Expert

Vanessa Morris is the Communications Director of The Foundation United (formerly the Selah Way Foundation) a Global Anti-Sex Trafficking organization that provides the best practices and proven models to eradicate sex trafficking and sexual abuse here in the U.S. and around the world through creating lasting, systemic change in the key areas of Prevention, Protection and Provision.

Morris is a graduate of the University of South Florida and joined the organization in 2011 before the full fruition of The Foundation United came into its own in 2018. She was excited to be a part of building a global umbrella to fight sex trafficking and abuse. As the daughter of a survivor, she is passionate about eradicating this issue worldwide. She is passionate about using creative outlets to educate and empower the masses, especially the faith community, to take action, recognize the red flags, and give a voice to those who are not free to speak up for themselves... yet!

The CEO of The Foundation United, Elizabeth Melendez Fisher Good has written a book entitled, 'Groomed: Overcoming the Messages That Shaped Our Past and Limit Our Future'.

Although Human Trafficking Awareness month was January, that does not mean we need to stop talking about this extremely important topic and most importantly avoid becoming numb to hearing about it.

The Foundation United has created their SPEAK UP initiative and have ways to contact them in order to be heard about sexual abuse, sexual trafficking and sexual exploitation. They even have educational programs as well as courses for school districts to help administrators and teachers identify the issues that children may be facing within the classroom.

One thing Morris would like any victim to know is that they will be heard and they are a worthy human being.
