Did you know that Salt Lake City has been named the #1 place for board games? That includes tabletop games, board and card games, role-play gaming, and more! On this episode of Fan Effect, returning guests explore all things gaming, including a live event where you can literally leap into the fun. “Quest Fest” is a free event that will take place at the Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City, Utah, on Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20, 2024. Set up like a giant board game, attendees can visit dragons, explore with pirates, visit magical vendors, and take in some unique art and entertainment.

Joining to talk about this event and why gaming is many’s #FavoriteFandom is “Quest Fest’s” creator and game master Ryan Sagers, who previously joined the show for his JanuArty event. As well as JJ Safley, Cipher Queen and dice vendor and “Games and Things,” who has previously joined Fan Effect on our “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” deep dive. Together with producer KellieAnn, they explore the fun of gaming to, unofficially, celebrate the 50th anniversary of ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ gaming
