ASE Speakes with Event Producer Maya Guice about her Monthly Music Series.

Every month at Jones Coffee in Pasadena, CA. Event Producer Maya Guice will be putting together a series of Events with local musicians and bands. Last month, the 2nd of the Second Saturdays series, featured Funk and Soul with bands, "Ortega" and "The Bopguns". And a Local Highlight, an amazing 13 year old singer/songwriter, Charlie Hickey.

This month [July] on the 13th, Second Saturdays will be presenting Rock Pop and Alternative Featuring: "The 88s" and "Sanglorians" with the Local Spotlight going to Julio Mejia. Julio is a solo acoustic rock artist. His musical background is influenced by alternative rock, pop, folk, and classical. And by such artist as Green Day, Death Cab for Cutie, and Volovan (a Mexican pop rock band). In 2000 Julio Mejia started playing bass in local bands. In '07 he started writing music for himself to perform in local venues. In addition to writing and performing his acoustic material he is also working on a new project under the same name of Mark Hazard.
