• Climate change can be overwhelming for the average individual, as they may feel that they don’t have the means to contribute to positive climate action. As such, it’s important to build solutions that make it easy for the average person to get involved in climate action, including the ability to passively support climate solutions through their investment decisions.
• One of the challenges with our current economic system is that it only values economic output, and not the other positive externalities associated with economic activities. For example, when it comes to regenerative agriculture, value is attributed to the economic output – food, but not the positive externalities that are associated with it such as healthy soil, clean water, and more sustainable land for future generations. It is important that we shift are thinking to ensure these positive externalities are valued as much as the direct economic output.
• 6There is currently a $150 trillion gap in climate financing needed to achieve a net-zero world by 2050. The problem isn’t a lack of capital, but a lack of proper incentivization and coordination mechanisms. To close this gap, we need to radically reimagine incentive structures to align climate action and rewards.
