When Katharine Graham took over the Washington Post in 1963, she was a shy socialite who'd never run anything. By retirement, she'd taken down a president, ended the most violent strike in a generation, and built one of the best-performing companies in American history. Graham had no training, no experience, not even confidence. Just a newspaper bleeding money and a government that expected her to fall in line. When her editors brought her stolen classified documents, her lawyers begged her not to publish. They said it would destroy the company. She published them anyway. Nixon came after her, attacking her with the full force of the executive. Then Watergate. For nearly a year she was ridiculed and isolated while pursuing the story that would eventually bring down the president. Graham proved that you can grow into a job that initially seems impossible and no amount of training can substitute for having the right values and the courage to act on them. Diesmal geht es um HTTP Libraries und Frameworks für Go. Jonathan fürchtet um seine Stellung als “Herr der Dinge”, denn bei Frameworks muss man sich manchmal in die Welt der Codegenerierung begeben. Hilfe, Kontrollverlust! Außerdem geht es darum, wie man gute Libraries erkennt und warum man eine spezielle lieber meiden sollte. Am Ende sprechen wir noch über Libraries für die Entwicklung von CLI Tools. HTTP Frameworks Negroni ( github.com/urfave/negroni ) Negroni is an idiomatic approach to web middleware in Go. It is tiny, non-intrusive, and encourages use of net/http Handlers. Kein Framework! Vergleichbar mit Express für Node oder Ktor für Kotlin. Sehr gut um schnell REST APIs zu entwickeln. Größere APIs sind auch kein Problem. Erstellt mittels Code-Generation Boilerplate-Code, programmiert wird nur noch die Logik, der Rest wird generiert. Nennenswert Unterstützt OAuth2 Revel ( revel.github.io ) A high productivity, full-stack web framework for the Go language . Bietet wesentlich mehr Möglichkeiten als die bisher genannten. Dennoch geht es vergleichsweise low-levelig zu (vgl. Spring, Rails, SailsJs usw.). Ist ein klassisches MVC mit template-engine, request validation usw. Vorteile Hot Code Reloading MVC mit Template-Engine Request Validation Nachteile Keine einfache, eingebaute Möglichkeit Datenbanken anzubinden Es werden gorm oder andere externe Libraries empfohlen Für Authentication werden ebenfalls externe Libraries empfohlen Buffalo ( github.com/gobuffalo/buffalo ) Buffalo isn’t just a framework ; it’s a holistic web development environment and project structure that lets developers get straight to the business of, well, building their business.
