This week Chris talks to one of Canada's leading singer/songwriters - Loreena McKennitt. "Loreena's ‘eclectic Celtic’ music has won critical acclaim worldwide and gold, platinum and multi-platinum sales awards in 15 countries across four continents." Loreena has over 14 million records sold worldwide.
Loreena composed and performed a feature song for Disney's "The Santa Clause" in 1994 and a key song for the Disney film "Tinker Bell" in 2008. She also has a number of film soundtrack contributions in Hollywood productions.
Loreena is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Manitoba. In 2002 and 2012 she was the recipient of Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals and in 2013 she was appointed to the rank of Knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters by the Republic of France. In 2014 she was appointed as the Honorary Colonel of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Chris talks to his guest about her Irish roots, growing up in Manitoba, her musical roots and other aspects of her life.
