Perhaps the KEY reason is called "problem behavior ". For new teachers roughly 40% of teachers quitting their jobs in the first 5 years said the main reason was problem behavior from students. For parents of the more than 1 million kids new to the world of in home teaching (home schooling); instructional control is a very important concept. Where can a teacher, and educator or a home schooling instructor learn more about the methods of ABA in non-technical langauge.... This is a lead into the RBT course. What it is, why it was created and how it can be used to address instructional control. You know enough on this topic fro years of work to hit me with some interesting questions. The VBI RBT course is "different" - how so? Answer: because it was created by educators who are also parents and behavior analysts. the terminology and examples are based on real life exemplars to help make the lesson you take today, applicable immediately. The pre-test prep section also helped those who might want to take the test anticipate questions they are likely to be asked. There is ALS the issue that superior IT tech allows the learner to scroll back and forth to sections of the course they might want to review. Expamples of problem behavior interfering with instruction and what can you do about it. Answer: anticipate it and work on the lesson structure ( ante-cedant behavior) OR. play with the variables of reinforcement to engage the learner more completely. What is the goal after all?
