Giovanni. First of all, I would like to thank Sanchit for joining us. Would you tell us something about your story? What did you do before AVR?

Sanchit. Article Video Robot was co-founded by myself and my partner Navneet. I met Navneet in college as we were attending the same engineering classes. Since we both had a lot of interest in computers and programming we decided to do some fun projects together. you know stuff that we liked to do without thinking about making money. My first project was actually a plugin I made for winamp, the mp3 player. It was a huge hit and has had more than 1 million downloads till date. Similarly Navneet made a php mp3 server to stream music files. we didn’t make a cent off it but seeing how much people liked our software we decided to skip the campus placements and start our own online company.

We have since worked on many different websites, some of which have been quite successful. Our flagship product is called Toufee.com. It is a flash making tool that is pretty popular with designers and was recently featured on Techcrunch, Adobe’s Showcase, Discovery Educators Networks, and some other big tech blogs. Toufee was also the idea behind creating Article Video Robot.

G. Who is your mentor, the one who helped you most in your success online?

S. A lot of people have helped us learn internet marketing. But my closest personal friend and mentor has been Brian Garvin of “Opt-In Lightning”. Brian has always been more than helpful in giving us professional advice and marketing tips. Another marketer who I don’t personally know but who I think is a master of internet marketing is Jimmy D. Brown. I think his courses offer the most practical advice and we have learned and used a lot from his teachings. We also had a lot of input from Dan Nickerson and Joel Comm who helped us tweak our homepage and site design before the launch.

G. How did you came out with the AVR idea and how much time did it take to develop?

S. This is actually kind of funny. The idea for AVR came to me when I was in physiotherapy. I know it sounds weird, but I think I can explain. the thing is I usually like to listen to audio-books on internet marketing and other stuff on my ipod. So here I was sitting in an empty physiotherapy room doing nothing but listening to this book on traffic generation. Anyway, so one of the ways this book said for getting a lot of traffic and backlinks is video marketing. And I was wondering on how I could incorporate this for my own websites. And it’s just then I suddenly realized that we already have a product called toufee.com which not only creates videos but can also speak text. It was only a matter of automating this conversion process and we have the world’s first automatic article to video converter.

So I called up Navneet and then we decided to build on this idea. There were actually a lot of roadblocks in the way like creating the one-click article to video converter (you know the one that automatically turns any article from Ezinearticles into video, etc). but slowly we figured out most of it and it was after 6 months we finally started the beta testing of AVR.

G. Would you please tell us about the best benefit of AVR ?

S. There are many benefits to using AVR but the biggest two have to be a lot of additional traffic and backlinks to your site. Extra traffic means more sales so that one is kind of given. The second advantage of AVR is more backlinks from high PR video sites and blogs. This basically means that once you start using AVR your site will get higher search rankings as more and more sites will be linking to it. But actually there is more.. what we realized during testing is that Google, MSN, Yahoo in particular treat videos more specially than ordinary webpages. I’m sure that often during your Google search you must have seen videos for some particular search key-phrase displayed on top of all search results. This is where AVR gets you the maximum leverage. Now, you too can create targeted videos for your product and services and within days, sometimes even hours, of submission you start seeing them in Google on top of every search result for your phrase. Last but not the least, the idea of presenting your articles as videos is also quite interesting because some people (me included) like to hear and watch stuff than read long text. So that’s pretty cool too.

Until AVR the only way to create these videos was with some pretty complicated video editing programs like Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas Studio, etc. Now, I consider myself tech savvy as I do programming and stuff but even I can’t use After Effects to create a video. So our goal throughout was to make sure to create something very simple that everyone can use. Which is also why we created the one-click article to video converter that as you may know can convert an article to video in just one single-click.. yes literally! So now you get live talking videos of your articles in just one-click.

The final part of the puzzle was to actually submit these videos to video sharing sites. Videos can be pretty huge like 100MB each, so uploading them to video sites can consume a lot of time and precious energy. So we decided to add a bonus tool to AVR called the Video Submit Robot or VSR which can automatically submit videos created with AVR to 17+ video sharing sites like YouTube, Metacafe, etc with just a few clicks without any waiting or uploads.

G. As the video submission, are you thinking about upgrading AVR in order to automate the account registration process and the multiple account management?

S. Yes, we have plans to do that.. actually not only just the video submission and registration but we plan to fully automate almost everything in the near future.

This will include fetching your articles, converting them into videos and finally submitting them to 17+ video websites with keyword optimization. This and a lot of many new features like this are coming soon.
