Mikey and Jon J are joined by Alex Figueroa, a friend of Jon J’s who he hasn’t talked to in 17 years!! Recording this podcast is their first time they have reconnected and they pick up right where they left off, a lot of sports and a lot of laughs. Alex talks about what life was like coming to Los Angeles from Puerto Rico as a fifteen year old who couldn’t speak English. Alex, who has always been a great storyteller, shares about his road as a teenage baseball player, being scouted by MLB scouts in High School, getting drafted by the Phillies organization, college ball, and even stories coaching his own kids in his sport while being an associate area scout for the Seattle Mariners. A lot of fun stories with gems to catch if you are a parent or a coach. Jon’s best quote about Alex is “If you don’t have good times or laugh hanging out with Alex, then you must be dead.” The last half of the episode the guys talk about Parts 3 & 4 of the Michael Jordan/Chicago Bulls documentary “The Last Dance.” Check it out, but only if you want to have fun!
