Inspiring and committed woman, she has dedicated a large part of her professional life to improving access to water and sanitation in Africa. As the former West Africa Regional Director of WaterAid, she spent 18 years there and has become an iconic figure in advocating for these fundamental human rights in the region. From OXFAM to WaterAid where she retired in march 2023, passing by IED.
Over the years, Mariame has become an influential personality in the African water world. She has worked with governments, civil society organizations, private sector partners, and local communities to raise awareness about the importance of access to water and sanitation.
