This episode is a special one, we are joined by Merette Khalil, doula and Lamaze-trained Childbirth educator and the founder of @youregyptiandoula. In this episode we explain what a doula is, what we do and then share candid thoughts and stories of our experience as doulas working in Cairo.A little bit about Merette Khalil (@youregyptiandoula)Merette is a public health and health systems researcher, and specialist on obstetric violence, she's the founder and CEO of YourEgyptianDoula where she leads her team in educating, advocating, and empowering expecting couples to have informed and supported births. Merette is a lamaze-trained childbirth educator and DONA and BAI-trained birth doula, and has attended births across different hospitals and birth centers around the world, in Egypt, USA, and several African countries.
