Paul Heselwood - TOUGH NEGOTIATIONS: THE ULTIMATE SOFT SKILL. Paul joined the police in 2001. He went on to become a detective in Serious and Organised Crime in the Metropolitan Police having worked in covert policing, various crime squads and the intelligence bureau. He was a Crisis and Hostage Negotiator with further specialisation in Kidnap negotiation. As well as a UKSCA Member, Paul is a CIMSPA Advanced Coach Practitioner and a British Triathlon High Performance Coach. Police Negotiation requires several qualities to reach a successful conclusion. The Advanced Communication skills practiced, refined, and utilised by Negotiators across the globe transfer directly into the sporting arena. As a S&C coach you continually negotiate – with athletes, technical coaches, managers, venue staff, parents and many other stakeholders. In this engaging talk Paul will introduce several approaches that have been proven to improve understanding, communication and results.
