The Rays (55-52) extended their win streak to over the Marlins (39-68) to four games. They've won 24 of their last 27 games against the Marlins, dating back to 2019.

Emmanuel Rivera's two-run home run gave Miami the lead in the first inning, and Jake Burger's solo shot made it 3-1 Marlins in the fifth, but the Rays went on a tear from there, scoring nine unanswered runs to blow Miami off the field.

Nick Fortes went 3-3 with Miami, and Xavier Edwards added two hits.

Edward Cabrera gave up two runs on thee hits in five innings in another solid outing for Miami. He was taken out after a leadoff walk to start the sixth. Declan Crnin and new Marlin Austin Kitchen got shelled by the Rays after that. J

osh Lowe had a single, a double , two runs scored and an RBI, and Ben Rortvedt had two hits and two RBI's to lead the Tampa attack. Brandon Lowe had two hits, and Jose Caballero added two hits- and he stole home. Christopher Morel added a solo home run in his second at-bat as a Tampa Bay Ray after coming over from the Chicago Cubs.

Every player in the Rays lineup reached base, as they moved to just 3 games out in the AL wild card race with two months left in the season.

Jeffrey Springs made his season debut on the mound for the Rays, going 6 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out three.

The two teams wrap up this quick two-game series tomorrow in Tampa. First pitch is set for 12:10pm ET. The Marlins haven't named a starter yet. Tampa Bay will send be looking for a four-game season series sweep of the Marlins.
