Rick Porcello put together a strong six-inning effort that was matched with a couple of Monster bombs from Rafael Devers and Sam Travis. The bullpen looked shaky as always, but seven runs were enough of a buffer this time around to secure the win.
Now five and a half games back from the second wild-card, the time for messing around has all but expired. Andrew Cashner is going to need to find the same mojo he was pitching with when he was a member of the Orioles. The 1-3 record and 7.33 ERA is not going to cut it. Lucky for him, he’s facing one of the worst teams in the league tonight.
