Agriculture was the main stay of the nation's economy in the sixties and seventies until the oil boom era when all attention was diverted to the oil secror. The government is now emphasizing diversification of the nation's economy and agriculture is a more stable way to boost the economy, create jobs for the teaming young and unemployed population, boost FOOD production and address the problem of poverty and of course develop the export market to earn foreign exchange for the country. Above all, change the mindset of the average Nigerian youth to begin to see the need to key into agriculture.
