Keep Your Marketing Simple - Four steps for better videos to improve your marketing The goal of this video is to give you simple tips for how to shoot videos at home in a way that looks professional and is engaging. 1. Video Lighting - Face a natural light source What that means is just face a window, so you get lots of light coming in and lights up your face so that we can see you. If you don't do this, and if you put the window in the background which we see quite often, you end up becoming very dark looking like a silhouette. If you are dark we can't actually see your face and people really connect with your face. So face a natural light source, simply face a window. 2. Video Background - Think about what is behind you So you wanna remove a lot of the distractions and keep everything as simple as possible so that it looks nice. Now, as a rule of thumb, a boring background means a boring video, or a tacky background means a tacky video. So what you wanna do is you wanna make it look as good as you can. Now if you need advice for making the background of your video better, leave a comment below and we can give you some advice there. I can even bring in some other people who give me advice about how to do this setup, for example Will Gordon , who's an amazing photographer, I'm sure he'll be happy to leave a few comments below as well. 3. Video audio - Improve your audio with a microphone Now given what's happening with the coronavirus, that might not be easy to order a new microphone or something like that. I can leave a link below for the audio microphone that I use, which is really good, I've used it for years, lasts a long time, it's about $100, and it's really really good quality, but there's a tonne of really good quality microphones that you can use. I strongly recommend that you use a microphone, not just use the internal microphone of a phone or of a computer. This will make a big difference to your video. Recommended Microphone - RØDE SMARTLAVPRode SmartLav+ Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Smartphones 4. Video delivery - Structure your talk Now this is actually the most important one. Even if you get all of the others wrong, if you do this right, you can deliver really good information. In terms of structuring your talk, what you need to do is Step one: Hook Start with a really good hook, which is you ask a good question, Step two: Desire Talk about the desire, which is what people want to achieve. Step three: Problem Discuss the problem, which is what is stopping them from achieving what they want to achieve. Step four: Solution Discuss the solution, which is what's going to solve their problem. Step five: Application Talk about how you apply the solution so that they get an understanding of how the product or service actually solves their problem, Step six: Call to Action The last one is how they can buy it from you. So if you do all of these things that I'm discussing right now and apply it to your videos, I guarantee, you'll end up with a better video.…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Campaign your content When creating strategic content, there are 3 main steps in order to maximise your reach. Content Creation Distribution to digital assetts Campaigning Most people ignore the campaigning part of the strategic content process. Campaigning involves reaching out to magazines, blogs, podcasts or anyone who has access to large audiences. The focus of the strategy is to align with brands that have similar values. Their audiences must have some interest in your strategic content. Campaigning is the most powerful part of strategic content and unfortunately, most people ignore it. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Cut Through is an Emotional Angle The objective of your content is to connect with your audience. Without an emotional connection, your content will be dismissed. To create strategic content that connects with your audience on an emotional level, the question becomes how to tell that story. The way I create strategic content that connects on an emotional level is to find someone who champions that story. They become a brand champion. The first step in strategic content is to identify the emotion you want to use to connect with your audience, then identify someone who champions that message. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Turn Videos Into Articles To get the most out of your strategic content, the best thing to do is to re-purpose it. Each video can get turned into 4 pieces of content. Each strategic piece of content will give you a video, an image, a podcast and a blog. The fastest way to strategically create a blog is to use the words in the video as quotations in an article about the video. The article explains what the video is about as if a magazine wrote it. This strategic content allows people to experience the same content twice on one page. It is strategic in that it reinforces your message by tapping into different learning styles. This is strategically powerful, as it allows people to understand what the video is about from a third person. It enhances learning and helps people retain more information from the content. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Struggles make us Human Brene Brown has been instrumental in helping us understand the power of vulnerability. But that doesn’t make it easier. When creating strategic content that cuts through the noise of social media, vulnerability is a powerful way to connect with an audience. Using vulnerability strategically, allows you to show your more human side, instead of your company side. Stories of struggle allow people to relate to who you are and what you do and this strategy allows you to connect with people through your content. The more vulnerable the story and the more difficult it is to talk about, the better the story and the better the content. To make this strategy work, identify the topic and then find someone who champions the message. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Identify Motivations When creating strategic content, one of the first things I identify is your customer's motivations. In this 1 on 1 workshop, we touched on the motivations to inspire others. We discussed how their success inspires others and how we can strategically create content based on these stories. Some of the stories are simply incredible. The people they help are absolutely stunning in what they can do. In this strategic content workshop, we discussed how disabled people are often more brilliant than abled people. These types of stories are particularly powerful and from a strategic content point of view, offer an ability to get cut through. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Create Brand Champions When people watch your content, they are looking for reasons to dismiss you. When you talk about yourself, people will dismiss you. The strategy to overcome this with your content is to find someone else who will say it for you. This person will become a Brand Champion for you and will help your content move through the noise strategically. Even if you have the authority to say something about yourself, it’s better to find someone who champions your message. By finding someone who champions your message, your content will have a strategic edge. The first task is to identify your strategic angle, this is usually your USP or Unique Selling Proposition. The next step is to find people who champion that message for you to strategically push your content. A testimonial is a good example of a brand champion, but this is a step further. This is encapsulating a story around your brand champion and promoting them for mutual benefit. This content strategy is known as promoting a brand champion. https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

Strategic Content Workshop - Content to strategically cut through - Why should anyone care? The first question to ask yourself, when creating content that strategically cuts through, is why should anyone care? You have to be brutally honest with yourself when it comes to creating strategic content. This is because if you don’t have someone’s attention straight away, then your content will be flicked away. Your content strategy needs to be strong enough to grab someone’s attention, and for a lot of brands, they can’t use gimmicks. In strategic content, the real cut through comes from an emotional angle. Your audience does care, but they have so much going on in their life that their minds are already full. To cut through this noise, your strategic content needs to tap into existing emotions. And, the way that we get there is by asking the question of why should they care. And, I mean, being brutally honest and saying, why should anyone give a f#(k? https://staunch.digital/strategic-content-workshop-content-to-strategically-cut-through-with-paul-finn/ #seo #digitalmarketing #marketing #business #socialmedia #facebook #socialmediamarketing #technology #youtube #entrepreneur #advertising #contentstrategy #content #googlemarketing #sem #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy #seotips #blogging #socialmediatips #digitalagency #organiccontent #onlinemarketing #success #successonline #contentmarketing #blogging #marketingtips #branding #business…

What is Viral Marketing - Ep 7 - 7 - Viral marketing is how you Resonate with your audience For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM The key to viral marketing is resonating. If I go to the piano and hit the E note and there's a guitar right there, the two E strings will start to vibrate with that the note. This is the same as singing and breaking the wine glass. If you match the resonance of the glass it shatters under the movement. This is why I say, resonate who you are. Pick what it is that you want to be, pick what it is that you are and turn up the volume on that thing. When you have 100 people listening or 1000, those who resonate, can't help but be moved and are compelled to move forward. That’s why I believe the key to viral marketing is in how your resonate. What is Viral Marketing - Ep 6 / 7 - Accept and Deliver and you will create a viral video For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM Your presentation does influence the success of the video, but it's not the most important thing. Viral marketing does not happen just because of the way you look. All of that stuff is not as important as getting your message across. So if you have to accept all of your flaws, nervousness, fear, whatever it happens to be and just step into it and do it anyway. If you want to create viral videos, you must practice that every day and even if it doesn't get easier, you get stronger. You're able to deliver the message that you want to deliver and when you get your message right, you will reach bigger audiences. I hate public presentations. I hate standing in front of a group, especially business people, I get nervous. My heart beats out of control… But what I do is just Breathe it out, stand up and deliver. I apply this to my videos. I think about my message and accept everything and deliver. By following this process, I know I will achieve viral success. What is Viral Marketing - Ep 5 / 7 - If you want viral marketing, Be Brave and do it anyway For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM To do viral marketing, getting the first video out is all good, but I think it's accepting the fear is there and doing it anyway. I work with a financial planner who is a rock star. She basically, absolutely terrified, has started to do this. She has committed to doing videos to create viral marketing. I don't see the terrified as weakness, either. I don't see it like that. Because some people think I'm too scared to do it, and then they put themselves down. It's incredibly strong, to have that fear and then to step into it and do it anyway. If you want to create viral videos, it’s important to accept your fear and do it anyway. What is Viral Marketing - Ep 4 / 7 - Lift your game to achieve viral marketing For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM As soon as you say video and camera, people just, lock up. It's crazy. They freeze and there is no reason to. When I was first trying to land clients and I’d say we can do this video strategy, across multiple platforms, we're going to work out this process to go viral. My first thought was that people would jump all over this because it was viral marketing. And I thought viral marketing was awesome. But then, the little tiny thing of getting in front of the camera was the biggest problem and was stopping me from achieving viral marketing. The camera was the thing that got in my way. So then I was after that my whole strategy was to just challenge people. I’d say to people, if you want me to work for you and create viral marketing for your business, you've got until the end of the week... Get your phone out. Take a video and upload it to social media. Until you've done that. I can't help you. What is Viral Marketing - Ep 3 / 7 - Create content Every Day will help make a viral video For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM To create viral content, to create content that people want to share, the process is making videos every day. Your goal when creating viral content is to start engaging with your audience, monitoring the results, looking at the feedback and looking at what people are reacting to. This is the most important step. To create viral content you need to know what works and what doesn’t. There will be some content that people react to more to and other content that people don’t. To create viral content you need to create a lot of content, then you stop doing what doesn’t work and do more of the content that does work. The thing is though, as you start to create more popular content, you need to continue to experiment. Even if you're going in a direction that is working better, you still need to think about other ideas. Viral marketing will come from trying something new. To create viral content, you don't want to remove creativity just because you found one thing that works. What is Viral Marketing - Ep 2 / 7 - It’s not about Millions of Views to achieve viral marketing For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM A lot of people think that viral marketing is: I put something on YouTube and Facebook and it blows up overnight. Where you get millions of views or millions of shares. Normally, the media talks about viral marketing based on the number of shares or views and focus on the level of fame that comes with it. The number of views and shares is only one part of what viral marketing is. This is at the extreme of what viral marketing is. If you bring it right back down to its absolute core, viral marketing is about sharing one idea with one person. To do viral marketing, you need to be thinking in terms of, you're going to reach that person and get them to share it with a friend or talk about it. What is viral marketing - ep 1 / 7 - viral marketing is about becoming part of someone’s thinking For more episodes: http://bit.ly/2YD56VM Viral marketing is when you make it to the dinner table and someone has a conversation about you. So you've gone past social media, past digital, past a magazine, past everything and moved into what I call viral marketing. You now become part of a conversation at the table and you're operating inside someone's psyche. This is what makes viral marketing so powerful. Most people are familiar with Gary Vee, he is a viral marketing genius. So I had a dream where Gary Vee was talking to me about marketing. And when I woke up, I was like, wow... He's managed to get inside my dream. That’s a great example of viral marketing.
