In this episode I talk about how the Bystander effect is present in our lives and how we might not even realize it. Through the study by Latane and Darley as well as the case of the murder of Kitty Genovese, we can understand the unfortunate reality of the bystander effect. Through Latanes discussion of the five steps towards helping in an emergency and increasing the likelihood of bystanders intervening, we can bring this further into our own lives.
